The WWU Staff
Hannah Carlson
Hannah is hyped to be a part of what Jesus is up to at WWU! Whether on or off campus, she is easy to spot due to the presence of her constant companion and cutest pup - Carmel. Hannah loves to cook food for friends, read novels and short stories, write poems no one will ever read, swim in the bay, and beat people in not-so-friendly games of h.o.r.s.e.
Stevie Cairns
Stevie did his undergrad at Western in Communications and a minor in Spanish, and then did the internship in 2019, then joined the CCF team full time in 2020. Stevie is probably one of the most memorable personalities you will ever meet and is passionate in reaching students for Jesus.
Rachel Dailey
Rachel completed the XA internship at Western in 2016 and then went into church ministry for three years. But finally the inevitable happened, and she returned to campus ministry, bringing her music skills and deep seated nerdiness to the Western team as the Worship team lead. Musicals, mystery novels, and Marvel movies are all on her current list of happy things, but she is always open to discovering something new!
Cameron & Kristin Harris
cameron@ccfministry.com, kristin@ccfministry.com
Cameron is a tea connoisseur. This combined with his love for Jesus makes him a great campus minister. You only need to be around Cameron for a few minutes to know that he wants to make Jesus known in the world.
Kristin graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Sociology and a Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification. She is deeply passionate about God’s work in the nations and loves equipping young students to be ambassadors of Christ’s reconciliation wherever they go in life.
David Knebel
David Knebel, the Internship Director, was a dynamic student leader in our Chi Alpha at WWU before graduating with a degree in Education. For the past 30 years David has served as a Chi Alpha campus evangelist and pastoral mentor. He is passionate about Jesus and loves to encourage others to make Jesus known. David is married to Shelley and they have four grown children and recently adopted two girls.
Sarah Kobayashi
Sarah is from Monroe, WA, and graduated from Western Washington University, where she majored in Kinesiology: Health and Fitness. During her five years in CCF as a student and intern, her desire to love and welcome international students grew. This led her to lead international ministry at Skagit Valley College, Whatcom, and now Western! When she’s not with students or staff, she loves to crochet Amigurumi animals, read, cook food, and eat it!
Jonathan Lytle
Jonathan has met international students from 79 countries… and counting! For Jonathan and his wife, Liz, their favorite activity is telling an international student about Jesus for the very first time, preferably if that also involves a delicious meal (which it often does!). Both of them are from the Pacific Northwest and met each other in college. Their daughter Lucy and sons Lukas aare guaranteed to brighten your day!
Johana Martinez
Johana grew up in Seattle and graduated from WWU with a major in Human Services and minor in Education & Social Justice. After doing the internship at WWU, she joined the team in 2022. She is passionate about God’s heart for reconciling every nation back to His heart through Jesus. She loves cross-cultural missions and hospitality, and adventuring with friends, tea + coffee, water coloring, and cooking are some of Jo’s favorite things!
Geoff Mumley
Geoff came to us all of the way from Africa. He grew up in Kenya and came to WWU for college. He quickly got involved in CCF and has never left. He’s married to Jess and their house is fun and full with 3 kids, Owen, Jack, and Maya.
Eric and Katie Powell
eric@ccfministry.com, katie@ccfministry.com
Eric graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in History/Social Studies. He longs to see students encounter Jesus and grow in their faith, and is passionate about international students.
Katie loves helping college students ask their big questions. As a curious person herself, big questions are where Katie has often encountered God most. You'll also never have to ask if she wants to see or hear about your dog because she always wants to see and hear about your dog. Chances are, she is already their bestie.
Tallulah Reyes
Tallulah came from Seattle to Bellingham to get her bachelors degree in History and anthropology. She grew up in a big family so coming to college wasn’t much of an adjustment. She originally wanted to become a high school history teacher. However, during her time at Western she got involved with CCF, became a student leader, and then did the Internship in 2023 and felt a call from God to pursue ministry full time. You can always find her happy to talk about her love of history, or explore fun thrift stores in Bellingham!
